What the Daily Setup Report Covers

The Daily Setup Report condenses the pre-market work a disciplined index trader would do by hand into one page: where the key gamma levels sit for SPY and QQQ, which regime dealer positioning implies for the session, what the VIX is signaling about expected range, and which scheduled events — economic releases, earnings, Fed speakers — could interrupt the technical picture. The goal is context, not predictions. Knowing the market is entering the day just above its gamma flip with CPI due at 8:30am tells you what kind of session is possible; what you do with that is your trading plan.

How to Use It Each Morning

Read the report top to bottom in under five minutes before the open. Start with the regime: a positive-gamma day favors range strategies and fading extremes, while a negative-gamma day warns that moves can extend much further than recent sessions suggest. Note the key levels — they function as the day's expected battlefield, and price behavior around them (respect or rejection) is itself information. Then check the calendar so a scheduled release never catches you mid-position. The AI-generated setup narrative ties these inputs together into a readable briefing, and the same structural concepts are explained in depth in our guides library — start with how to read a GEX chart if the level terminology is new. For intraday trades around these levels, our 0DTE options guide covers the instruments most traders use to express them.
