About These Tools

The four calculators on this page handle the quantitative homework that separates planned trades from impulsive ones. The Strategy Builder maps profit, loss, and breakevens for multi-leg options structures before you commit capital, making the risk geometry of a spread or condor visible instead of theoretical. The Position Sizer answers the question most traders skip — how much to risk — by working backward from your account size and maximum acceptable loss. The Expected Move calculator translates current option prices into the market's own forecast of how far a stock is likely to travel by expiration, which is the baseline any directional trade has to beat. The Trade Journal Analyzer turns your trading history into statistics: win rate, average winner versus average loser, and the expectancy math that reveals whether an approach is actually profitable or just recently lucky.

Why Position Sizing Comes First

Of everything on this page, the Position Sizer deserves the most use. Strategy selection gets the attention, but sizing determines survival: a trader risking two percent per trade can be wrong many times in a row and continue operating, while a trader risking twenty percent can be eliminated by one normal losing streak. This matters doubly in options, where positions routinely lose their entire premium — sizing "to the max loss" is not pessimism, it's arithmetic. Pair the sizer with the Expected Move output to sanity-check whether a trade's target is realistic, and consult the GEX dashboard to see whether dealer positioning favors or fights your direction. For the strategy-selection side of the equation, our guide to credit spreads versus iron condors walks through matching structure to market conditions.
